Funkor is committed to providing equal opportunity for special children. We have organized book reading sessions for blind children and developed special books for them. When Funkor was invited to participate in the first National Book Day, organized by the National Book Foundation of Pakistan, in May 2010, Funkor facilitated participation of blind children, from Almaktoom Centre for Visually Impaired Children. Two blind children Najam and Maria, read from « Sadako’s Prayer » in front of an audience of almost 200 children and adults.

Funkor works with Children in Crisis, by not only raising funds for relief efforts, but also organizing art activities and book reading sessions as a ‘ healing process’.

Funkor works with Children minority communities, specially from the marginalized Christian community living in the shanty towns of Islamabad and with the Kalash tribe through the Rumbur Development Welfare & Conservation Society .

To create awareness about the environment among children Funkor organizes different art and book raeding as well as trips for children;
To create awareness about the environment we participate in the ‘Tree Plantation’ week of the Capital Development Authority each year. We paint murals on importance of trees in different schools and communities. In one of the tree plantation activities, renowned artist Ghulam Rasul planted saplings with children.

Funkor believes in respect for religious places of all religions as an integral part of promotion of Peace. For this Funkor started ‘The Children for Heritage Protection Project’,.
The Children for Heritage Protection Project is based on a two pronged strategy to connect children of Islamabad with their ‘multi-cultural roots’.
